Regency Day at Gunby Hall

Picture courtesy National TrustThis Bank Holiday Monday (May 4th) you can catch a glimpse of life in Regency times (1811 – 1820) at Gunby Hall, with period costumes, dancing on the lawns, a picnic, games, a promenade to the local church, harpsichord and cello music, a hat sale and painting exhibitions, as well as the usual delights of the gardens and house.

Throughout the day costumed re-enactors will mingle with visitors and stop for photo opportunities.

Here’s the programme in detail:

11:00                    House and gardens open to the public

11:15                    Formal opening on the front steps

12noon                 Dancing on formal front lawn

13:00                    Picnic on the back lawn

14:00                    Dancing on formal front lawn

15:00                    Promenade from the house to St Peter’s Church

15:10-15:30         Church service in St Peter’s

16:00                   Last admission

NB:The car park at Gunby is not suitable for motor homes or sporty cars due to the soft ground conditions. There’s a lay-by at the entrance of the drive (500 meters walk) that you can use. Call 01754 890102 for further advice.
