From the village notice boards (August bank holiday 2015)

Highlights for the holiday weekend in and around Woodhall Spa:

Fancy a ride in a vintage bus? Then head into Horncastle between 10.30 and 11.45 am this Saturday, as some of the buses belonging to the Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society are on display at Mortons Printers car park, Boston Road.

Or, if vintage buses are not your thing, smaller items from the past will be on show and for sale at an antiques fair at St Peter’s Church, Woodhall Spa, from 10 am to 4 pm.

And in the afternoon the author of Oy Yew Ana Salote is visiting The Book Fayre in the Broadway, Woodhall Spa, for a book signing, between 2 and 3 pm.

“Oy Yew is a difficult book to characterise. It is a middle grade children’s novel, it is an escapist adult read, it is a search for identity, a tale of separated soul-mates, and a mystery of disappearing servants. It is both dark and comical, and its voice is more classic than is fashionable. It was written out of inspiration and not with one eye on the market.”
