Woodhall Spa Cricket Club members have been looking forward all season to the long-awaited upgrading of their pavilion. And now it’s happening. Refurbishment is now well under way at the Jubilee Park Pavilion which has served the club so well since it opened in 1971. When the work is completed, it will mean safer changing rooms for juniors, better disability access and facilities, plus a more environmentally friendly heating system.
The club awarded the renovation contract to Peter Jackson Cabinet Makers Ltd of Horncastle, following approval by the project main funders, WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd) and the England and Wales Cricket Board Trust.
The pavilion was originally designed for predominantly male sport. Recently the club saw the need for a facility which can be used throughout the year by all ages and genders, and they aim to provide better female facilities in the future, as ladies’ cricket becomes more popular.
Project Manager Martin Wright, is confident that the pavilion will be open for the club’s annual Christmas Fair in December.
