Some interesting stories this week from our local papers:
Tomorrow in Woodhall Spa there’s an event designed for community groups or charities who want to better publicise what they do. The Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) workshop will explore many options in an interactive free workshop – from sending a press release to your local newspaper to simple social media. The workshop takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, from 2-4pm at the Cottage Museum in Iddesleigh Road, Woodhall Spa. Places must be booked in advance and you can book here. Further details in the Horncastle News.
And there’s a lovely story about seven year old St Andrew’s School pupil Charlie Allam, proud grower of a stand of four giant sunflowers which have reached 3.69 metres in height (13 feet). Even with a pair of ladders, Charlie is dwarfed by the impressive plants. Great for the birds too. The full story here
Meanwhile, at Tattershall Castle plans are well under way for this year’s Christmas market, scheduled for Saturday November 14 and Sunday November 15. If it’s anywhere near as good as last year’s event it will be a bargain-hunter’s paradise. Read all about it in the East Lindsey Target.
