From the Woodhall Spa notice boards: February 2016

Yesterday I spent an hour or so checking out the latest public notices. As research goes it was a very pleasant task, in the pre-spring sunshine, and I got the distinct impression that Woodhall Spa is waking up from the winter.

 

 

The Woodhall Spa and District Gardening Association is leading the way with three upcoming treats for the horticulturally inclined:

 

 

 

  • On February 15th Bill Smith will be on hand with a talk titled “Mr Mole and unwanted Guests.” It’s at St. Peter’s Church Hall at 7.30pm. Entrance is £1.50 for non-members, and that includes refreshments.
  • BBC Radio 4 gardening guru Bob Flowerdew will be at the Petwood Hotel’s Woodland Suite to talk about “No Work Gardening” on April 15th at 7pm. Tickets tickets for this rare opportunity; cost £10.
  • There’s a coach trip to the Harrogate Spring Flower show on April 21st. The trip costs £28 including the entrance fee of £16. The coach will pick up from various points in the village, arranged when you book. The return journey time is 4.30pm

The Cottage Museum next week is offering “Leap into Spring” family craft activities for children, from 10 to 12 am, February 18th. The cost is £3 per child and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Call 01526 353455 for further details. Web page

The celebrated organist Kevin Grunill is the guest of Music for Woodhall  on February, at 7.30pm in St. Peter’s Church Hall. Tickets are £7 for non members and £5 for members. Here’s taster:
