World War 1 poppies come to Lincoln

Photo courtesy visit LincolnWork is progressing at Lincoln Castle on the installation of “Wave”, the sweeping arch of red poppy heads presented by 14-18 NOW. The ceramic poppies created by artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper attracted five million visitors at the Tower Of London in 2014. Now you can see most of them in Lincoln castle from May 28 to September 4. Not to be missed!

The original sculpture featured 888,246 ceramic poppies, to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, in which 888,246 British soldiers lost their lives.
