Here’s a selection of things to do in and around Woodhall Spa over the next month or so, in date order:
September 16 / 17 (7.30 pm)
Broadbent Youth Theatre: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Box office 01673 885500, or book online here
“Two years ago this theatre beat off competition from the Nottingham Playhouse, the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering and Louth Playgoers Riverhead Theatre to be revealed as regional winner of the Netmums Theatre Awards.
The venue is owned and run by local theatre company the Lindsey Rural Players. The group also hosts visiting companies, both amateur and professional, as well as running a thriving youth group, which shows its own productions and was a significant factor in clinching the Netmums’ title.” (Grimsby Telegraph)
Geoff Hall will be spilling the beans about Bugs and Garden Plagues for the benefit of Woodhall Spa Gardeners at St.Peter’s hall at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £1.50 for non-members. To join the club, contact Sharon Witherall on 01526 353851.
Music for Woodhall: Organist John Bowdler will be entertaining at St.Peter’s hall at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 for non-members, £5 for members. Contact Philip Groves 01526 353225.
Last Night of the Proms: Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue band concert at St. Peter’s Hall, 8 pm. Tickets from Janet’s Tea Room, or contact David Forman 01526 388436 | email Bucknallevents@aol.com
“The Band has a very large selection of music to choose from, with a library containing just over 600 pieces of music. We like to have a mixture of music in the pads all the time ranging from classical to pop; Disney to film music and of course a full range of Proms music and Marches, including the Band’s very own Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue March.”
