Woodhall Spa: A visit to the bank might get a bit easier

Horncastle and ELDC Councillor Fiona Martin announced at a town council meeting last Tuesday evening that as part of East Lindsey District Council’s latest review into car parking, there may be a 30-minute free parking period in the Market Place in future. While stressing the proposal has yet to be ratified, Councillor Martin said that combined with the retention of all day free parking at The Wong this could only benefit the town.

It strikes me that it would also benefit residents of Woodhall Spa and other neighbouring villages who lost access to the only bank in Woodhall Spa in 2012 after it’s ATM was robbed by ram-raiders in 2010, and to Woodhall’s thousands of summer visitors, who must find it quite bizarre that Horncastle has three banks and Woodhall Spa has none.
