The open air swimming pool in Jubilee Park recently featured in the Guardian’s ten best lesser-known UK Lidos. Well, quite right too. Here’s what they said:
“Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. Tucked into the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside, Woodhall Spa has a charm that harks back to simpler times. At its heart is Jubilee Park, featuring recreation grounds, rose gardens, a bandstand and a heated 33-metre pool that sits in its own immaculately manicured grounds. There is a lovely campsite in the park, right next to the pool, so campers can practically roll out of bed into the water. Next to the main pool is a baby pool, and there’s a slide and a fountain to entertain younger swimmers. While lounging on the grass with a good book and some cake from the excellent on-site cafe is another option.”

After months of fundraising, members of Woodhall Spa’s Jubilee Park Bowling Club decided to use their own people power to finish the job of building their much needed new clubhouse. They can now afford a £30,000 prefabricated building to provide larger premises, with its own kitchen and disabled toilets, but that’s just for starters.
To avoid further costs club members have been out on the site in the park with diggers and tools preparing the foundations for the building, having cleared the site themselves and taken down the old clubhouse – all under their own steam.
Don’t miss a rare opportunity to see David Lean’s classic Brief Encounter, starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson, on a large outdoor screen in the beautiful grounds of Jubilee Park on July 16. The doors will open at 9.00pm and the film will start at approximately 9.30pm depending on light levels.
A brand new initiative for Woodhall Spa, this festival will combine a celebration of top quality Lincolnshire artisan foods with activities promoting fitness, exercise and games. The date has been set for Sunday 4 September in Jubilee Park – 10am to 4pm, so make a note in your diary now.
